Collage-it

This is a sample of the collage I made with some photos from class using
Collage-it.com (free version).
I'll have to try playing with this some more.

Technology Goals

I am on a steep learning curve with technology.  One of my professional goals this year is to try to attend one webinar a week or to use a new "technology" for the class to use.  I've created a "Tagxedo" with all the website/apps/technology we've used thus far.

I added a couple games that we tend to play during our free time.
Tony Vincent recently published a "Wordle" with the technologies that educators enjoy using in their PBL classrooms.
Thus, this "Wordle" will act as a goal for our class.  Provided the apps/technology costs are minimal, my goal is to try most of these by the end of the year.  This week we are working on Toontastic and Puppet Pals, besides our writings in NaNoWriMo.

Seed Counting

All of us students had to count how many seeds were in three different pumpkins and who ever guessed the closest won.

Pumpkin number two had 343 seeds.
Pumpkin number one had 693 seeds.
Pumpkin number three had 569 seeds.

Elizabeth had the closed guess of 700 seeds.  Her prize is 15 minutes of free time!

Apple Tasting

Sanaa and Sahira got all of the students to taste and vote on four different kinds of apples: Pink Lady, Granny Smith, Aurora (Yellow), and Gala.

We tasted each one and the class favorite was the Pink Lady.
Notice the star shape in the apple when it's cut in half.  Sanaa and Sahira also counted seeds. Most of the time the answer was an odd number.

Having Fun With Photography using the iPads

We all had a great time learning photography and getting new apps for the iPads with really cool effects.
Jack and the Annex as a rainbow.

Jack modeling for a picture for our photography session.

Mac as a rainbow.

Alex and Elizabeth were taking pictures as Alaina and Caly posed as models.

Miss Harold was using her iPad to take pictures of the class and they were showing up on the projector.

Alaina made this of me when we drew Mario Mustaches.

I really do love myself. Alaina made this of me after I wrote, "I <3 myself" on the white board.

Mac, the avatar. One of the students made him an avatar.
