Having Fun With Photography using the iPads

We all had a great time learning photography and getting new apps for the iPads with really cool effects.

Alex and Elizabeth were taking pictures as Alaina and Caly posed as models.

Miss Harold was using her iPad to take pictures of the class and they were showing up on the projector.

Alaina made this of me when we drew Mario Mustaches.

I really do love myself. Alaina made this of me after I wrote, "I <3 myself" on the white board.

Mac, the avatar. One of the students made him an avatar.

Field Trip to Art Knapps, Surrey

Despite all the rain, the students kept a positive attitude while they braved the cold and wet weather.  They enjoyed a time of playing in the bouncy castle, swinging on the carousel, driving the bumper cars and playing a round of 18.

Is that Miss Harold in the driver's seat? Look out!

We took a short train ride to the pumpkin patch to pick out our perfect pumpkin to carve.

Thank you Art Knapps in Surrey to hosting our field trip!  We had a great time!

Tagxedo images on the kinds of Apples

Mrs. Gledhill told Miss Harold about a site similar to Wordle called Tagxedo. During Friday's class, the class broke into groups of two or three and made tagxedos using the shape of apples and naming different kinds of apples in the shape.

Baking Bread

On Tuesday the class was divided into 3 groups and made 3 loaves of bread using 3 different breadmakers, 1 Black & Decker and 2 different CharlesCraft machines.
The class favorite was the Black & Decker.  All 3 produced excellent tasting bread! No bread was left behind except for some crust from group 2's.

Pen and Ink

As part of Mac's presentation, the students all learned how to use an old pen and ink that they used during the time of Leonardo Da Vinci.

Fishing Trip

Our class went to Fraser Valley Trout Hatchery in Abbotsford to "Learn to Fish."  This is a catch and release facility.  The Hatchery releases trout to many lakes in BC.

Wasae caught four fish!
